Youth Justice

Youth Justice Services (Positive Options, Youth Mental Health Court Worker Program, Section 34 Assessments)

We provide the Youth Court Mental Health Worker (YCMHW) Program and the Positive Options Program to identified youth who are involved in the justice system.

Youth 12 to 17 years of age may be referred to our YCMHW program. We offer a mental health identification and consultation service to youth and their families, Crown Attorneys, defense/duty council, and Youth Court Judges. We intervene at the earliest possible stage of the youth’s involvement with the justice system to determine suitability for diversion.

Through the Positive Options Program, we assess risk factors that contribute to the youth re-offending under the law and provide assistance to help reduce that risk.
