The Clinical Services Division provides assessment and treatment services to children, youth and families who present with a wide range of children's mental health concerns. In order to accomplish this mandate, the division employs a multi-disciplinary staff of child and youth workers, social workers, psychometrist, as well as a consulting psychologist and psychiatrist.
The division provides assessment for children and youth and their families from birth to 18 years of age related to intellectual, emotional, behavioural, developmental, family functioning and young offender concerns.

» Initial Consultation
At the time of referral, you will be given an appointment for an Initial Consultation. During this Consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns as well as receive information regarding the range of services that might be most appropriate for you and your family. As well you may be given reading materials and options of other community services that can be helpful while you wait for further service.

» Child and Family Assessment and Intervention
The Assessment and Treatment Program provides individual, group, and family assessment and treatment for a broad spectrum of emotional, behavioural and interactional problems experienced by children, youth and families.

» Youth Justice Services Program
The Youth Justice Services Program provides pre-sentence section 34 court assessment of youth convicted under the Youth Criminal Justice Act for the purpose of assisting the court to achieve appropriate dispositions. In addition, youth and their families are afforded various forms of rehabilitative assistance.

» Concurrent Disorders Program
The Concurrent Disorders Program is an consultation, assessment and treatment program for youth and their families who have been identified with a combined substance abuse and mental health problem and offers specific assessment and treatment interventions to address those concerns.

» Positive Options Program
This program is designed to assess factors which contribute to youth re-offending under the law and to provide intervention to reduce that risk.

This in-home program partners with families to assist them in developing solutions to problems in family life. It offers a practical and comprehensive approach with emphasis on skill development and problem solving.

This program provides follow-up services for children and youth who present in crisis at Bluewater Health emergency department and are determined to require on-going assessment and treatment.
